Siera & Boone

Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress

Their Story

A few years ago, Siera & Boone were both geology students at the University of Alabama. They had a lot of classes together, but really started to click when they were in geochemistry together. They continued to hang out as friends for a while, until the summer of 2016 when they both attended Field Camp in New Mexico- a course required for graduation. During that trip, they really fell for each other. Boone says he just could’t resist Siera as they climbed the “death hike” at the beginning of the trip.

After enduring the treacherous hike required by the course, Siera & Boone went on their first date in Sante Fe. That New Mexican style dinner and a movie kicked off the beginning of a beautiful relationship.

Our Time Together

Siera & I planned together for 6 months. We had a standing phone meeting every Thursday at 7:00 PM – and I looked forward to it every week! We chatted about everything from centerpieces to the order of their precessional lineup and it was so fun! Siera was alway prepared for our meetings and was always ready to mark our to-do’s off the list. She was also a sweetheart to get to know. My husband and I even went to coffee with she and Boone when we were in Florida once!

Wedding Day

On wedding day Siera wore a flowy, A-line dress with floral appliqués throughout the bodice. She wore her hair in loose curls that were pulled back into a half up-do and topped with a dainty headband. The bridesmaids wore long, off-the-shoulder dresses varying in color from light dusty blue to deep navy. The bouquets featured white hydrangeas and white calla lilies. Siera’s bouquet was show stopping with a solid green bottom and a top filled with solid white orchids.

The groomsmen wore dark navy suits with steel gray ties and calla lily boutonnieres, while Boone stood out perfectly with his large, white-orchid boutonniere.

The entire wedding party stayed at the hotel the night before the wedding, so transitioning into getting ready on wedding day was super easy. The guys and girls both had their own suites fully equipped with refreshments. The hair and makeup artist arrived early that morning and the girls got to work!

The Ceremony & Cocktail Hour

Once Siera was in her dress and the bridesmaids were all gorgeous and ready, they headed outside for a bridesmaid reveal. Siera also had a sweet first look with her dad on the terrace of the hotel. Both reveals were tear-jerkers.

Finally, it was time for Siera and Boone’s first look. They did their first look on a bridge above part of the lake right outside of the hotel. It was surrounded by greenery and looked like a romantic, enchanted garden.

The ceremony was on a pavilion that over looked the lake. The pavilion featured gathered fabric that resembled clouds floating right above. Tropical plants surrounded the area and mist from the fountain in the lake put a romantic glow on the entire scene.

Siera was walked down the first half of the long, beautiful aisle with her mom, then met her dad for the second half of the walk. It was a heart-felt way to honor both of her parents.

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour at the terrace bar, while family and formal photos were taken by the lake.

During cocktail hour, our team, alongside the venue and catering team, put the finishing touches on the ballroom. It was the most beautiful reception space. Dinner tables were topped with silver linens, silver charger plates, navy agate stone table numbers, and white orchid centerpieces. Siera & Boone’s sweetheart table, a small, round table topped with a silver linen, was placed at the very front of the room for all to see.

Dinner

After cocktail hour and formal pictures came to an end, the guests made their way to the guest tables to find their seats. The wedding party was introduced and Siera & Boone enjoyed their first dance to “I Can’t Help Falling In Love” by Elvis. The father-daughter and mother-son dances flowed nicely after, then dinner was served.

The Reception & Party

While guests were finishing dinner, toasts were made by Maid of Honor, Kristin, Siera’s dad, Don, and as a surprise, Siera!  Post-toasts was the perfect time to cut into their stunning, three tiered cake.

After the wedding cake, the dance floor was officially opened and the crowd danced and sang until it was time for sendoff.

Everyone lined the exit to the ballroom and cheered as Siera & Boone ran up the stairs.

It was such a beautiful day.

 Congratulations to Siera & Boone!
