Jasmine & Christian

Sunday, June 2, 2019

State Botanical Gardens of Georgia

I feel like high school sweethearts are really rare these days, right? I mean it’s not very often you hear of two people who went through high school AND college together, but that’s exactly what Jasmine & Christian did.

They first met through their high school’s cross country team when they were just 16- and let me tell ya, they must have really hit it off. Soon after they met they found themselves on their first date, then high school graduation, then freshman year at UGA, then college graduation, and next thing they knew, their wedding day. During their time together, they have traveled and gone on the coolest adventures! And they are keeping up the trend by honeymooning in Peru! I had fun stalking them on Instagram while they were there.

And just like their story, these two are absolutely precious. From our first consultation call ( I was in the middle of nowhere and my phone kept loosing reception), to wedding day, to every meeting in between, Jasmine & Christian radiated kindness. They were a joy to work with and it was truly a blessing to be able to help their friends and family celebrate their love on wedding day.

Their wedding design reflected their adventurous spirits perfectly. Jasmine wore a stunning, free-flowing A-line gown with soft curls and a few white flowers tucked in the back of her hair. The bridesmaids wore a variety of dress colors from blush to deep maroon. The girls handmade their bouquets all together the night before and honestly, I was so impressed. The groupings of muted-color wildflowers were tied with flowy ribbon and complimented their dresses perfectly.

The groomsmen sported white shirts, navy pants, and pink ties, while Christian stood out perfectly in his full, dark navy suit. They all had matching tie-clips and were just dapper.

As soon as the wedding party arrived at the venue, Jasmine and Christian headed to one of their favorite spots on a nature trail to read their vows to one another. They didn’t see each other, but stood back-to-back and read their hand written letters to one another. Can you say romantic?

The ceremony was in The Great Room at The State Botanical Gardens of Georgia under a wooden arbor made by Jasmine’s dad that we covered in greenery. Behind the arbor was a backdrop of tropical greenery. It almost felt like we were in an enchanted forest and we were FOR IT.

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour on the patio, while we, along with the Mama’s Boy staff, flipped the room. In under an hour, we turned the quiet enchanted forest into a whimsical dinner party fully stocked with brunch and wildflowers.

The centerpieces, although mismatched bottles, looked like they were always meant to sit next to one another when the wildflowers were place inside and paired with the wooden table numbers.

After cocktail hour and formal pictures came to an end, the guests made their way inside to find their seats. The wedding party was introduced and Jasmine & Christian enjoyed their romantic, first dance featuring one of their favorite Ben Rector songs. The father-daughter and mother-son dances flowed nicely after, then the Mama’s Boy “Brunch” Buffet was opened. I mean who doesn’t love breakfast for dinner?

While guests were finishing up their brunch, toasts were given by Best Man, Elijah, Maid of Honor Gabby, groomsman, Garrison, Jasmine’s dad, Matt, and Christian’s dad, David. Post-toasts was the perfect time to cut into their gorgeous, two tier semi-naked cake by Ike & Jane. Oh, and don’t forget their donut cake also made by Ike & Jane.

After cake, the dance floor officially opened and they cut-a-rug until it was time for sendoff.

The guests lined the driveway at the back patio and cheered their hearts out as Jasmine & Christian ran through and hopped in their getaway car.

It was truly a beautiful celebration. Congratulations to Jasmine & Christian!
