In The Spotlight: Bailey Smith Calligraphy

For today’s spotlight, I’m so excited to introduce Bailey Smith Calligraphy. I first found Bailey’s art through Instagram and instantly fell in love. She does such a beautiful job designing suites and pairing colors to create something to perfectly introduce a wedding to its guests. Her classic calligraphy and intricate water color paintings are to-die-for. Seriously, just go scroll through her feed, it’s like candy for your eyes.

I had so much fun chatting with Bailey about her art and her journey a few weeks ago. She has such a cool story and is a perfect example of someone who has followed her talent to passion and success. She started practicing her calligraphy during deployment overseas then fell even deeper in love with it while planning her own wedding a few years ago. Before she knew it she was creating things for friends, then kept going until her business was booming!

She loves creating invitation suites that reflect the personalities of her couples – something we connected on immediately. Needless to say, I’d recommend Bailey to any bride in need of a calligrapher! So without further adieu, let’s jump right into Bailey’s Spotlight!

#4: Describe your ideal client: The type of couple who wants their stationery to be an experience, wants it to tell their love story; and who value small, intimate details.

#5: How would you describe your craft style?:  Good-humored elegance

#6: What makes our business different from others in the industry?:  I only offer custom work because I want each suite that I make to be a reflection of the couple and their story. I love having fun with the details and hiding little “easter eggs” in the suites that only the couple know are there. I like to know what inspires people and what they find beautiful and use that to create their art.

#7:What else would you like your potential clients to know about your business? Or you?:  I love to be involved from start to finish when it comes to paper products – from save the dates to day-of details. That way I’m able to build a “brand”, so-to-speak for your wedding aesthetic and create cohesion throughout.
